Engr. Abimbola Akinajo is a Chartered Civil Engineer in the United Kingdom and Nigeria with over three decades of substantial post-qualification experience, in the design and delivery of major rail and road infrastructure projects.

She earned a B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria before beginning her engineering career in the UK.

As the Managing Director of LAMATA, she has delivered critical projects that advance the Lagos State Governor’s Traffic Management and Transportation agenda. These include the completion of phase 1 of Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue and Red Line projects, the facilitation of bus infrastructure including terminals, depots and bus stops, the launch of an e-ticketing integrated fare collection system powered by Cowry Card and the introduction of electric and compressed natural gas (CNG) buses.
