Mr. Jacques EDJANGUE

Vice President, People and Talent Management Complex, African Development Bank Group

Mr. Edjangue, a Cameroonian national, is an accomplished senior executive with more than 29 years of experience in multilateral institutions, including 22 years at the African Development Bank Group. He joined the Bank in 2002 and, having served as Division Manager and Director, he was appointed Acting Director, Human Resources in 2020 and subsequently Acting Vice President for the People and Talent Management Complex.

Mr. Edjangue holds an MBA from Colorado State University, USA; a master’s degree in Interpretation, and a Master’s degree in Translation, both from the University of Buea, Cameroon; a Maîtrise in Afro-American Literature from the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon; and several Executive Leadership Certificates.

He was appointed in June 2022 to help lead the new Vice Presidency for People and Talent Management. This new Complex was set up to give greater priority and visibility to people and talent management and to further deepen staff engagement and overall experience of Bank employees.

Mr. Edjangue led the establishment and stabilization of the new Complex, supporting the President to ensure the delivery of efficient, client-oriented people management functions and services for overall institutional effectiveness. Under his leadership, the Bank made significant progress in ensuring that staff engagement is strong (90th, against 80th percentile on average for comparators), that the Bank becomes more attractive, diverse and inclusive. 

Mr. Edjangue helped to initiate, lead and successfully manage several human resources reforms in the Bank, including the People Strategy, Performance Management Framework, Total Compensation Framework, Remote Work, Talent Councils, Strategic Staffing, Economic Dividend for Gender Equality certification,  and Leadership Academies.

He was appointed in 2000 as Deputy Director and Deputy Permanent Representative at the International Organization of la Francophonie. In this capacity, he represented the organization at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
