Lila leads Vantage’s Political Risk and Credit team focused on building a business that can support brokers and clients with international trade and development.

She is a seasoned professional with over 20 years private and public sector experience in the credit and political risk insurance industry. Lila performs a variety of roles including development of underwriting strategy, reinsurance relationship management, portfolio management, underwriting of political risk and credit transactions, negotiation of policy terms and conditions, and development of customer and broker relationships.

She was previously the Technical Underwriting Director for Credit and Political Risk (“C&PR”) at Zurich. In this role she contributed to risk appetite and underwriting strategy development while also monitoring and analyzing the C&PR portfolio. At Zurich, she also held the roles of Senior Underwriter; Regional Manager, Continental Europe; Regional Manager, Americas; and Product Underwriting, Head of CP&R. This included a two-year assignment in Barcelona to lead the expansion of the Continental Europe regional office.

Before that, Lila held several senior positions at the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (“OPIC”)—now known as the US International Development Finance Corporation (“DFC”)—including International Economist, Insurance Officer for Eastern Europe & Former Soviet Union, Insurance Officer for Latin America & Caribbean, and Regional Manager of Latin America & Caribbean.

Lila is fluent in English and Spanish, and she holds both a Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in International Business and Finance, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and from the University of Michigan.
